Letters from our satisfied customers
Dear Phil, 3/25/2008
Vicky and I are very pleased with our new 2008 34 foot New Horizons fifth wheel trailer. Having traveled well over 30,000 miles and covered three fourths of the United States in our 2006 New Horizons trailer, we have come to greatly appreciate the construction and tow ability of your product. We are really enjoying the new features in our 2008 unit: under mount laminated sinks, entry way coat closet, sliding tray pantry, and the new full desk and entertainment center design with multiple draws and flat screen TV.
The attention we received by all the workers at the time of delivery was superior. They dealt with our requests quickly and professionally, from adding a drawer and some additional shelving to making minor repairs to noted problems. The factory staff’s attention to detail is apparent as is your efforts to improve an already great product.
We wish to thank all of you at New Horizons for providing us with a quality new home that will see many miles of travel and provide us with a unique living experience.

Dear New Horizons:
We just want to tell you how excited we are about our new unit. When we picked up our unit in December, 2005, the weather turned nasty with snow and cold winds. The highs for some of those days did not reach 20 degrees and the nights were even colder-one morning we woke up to 11 degrees. However, we were warm and quite comfortable in our new 34 foot New Horizon Fifth Wheel RV. Since then we have tested it even further in the deserts of Arizona as well as almost everything in between. We are convinced that this is the best full-timing unit on the market. The five-star rating from RV.org is truly deserved!
Thank you so very much! Phil & Kim Gove
To everyone at New Horizons RV ,
Penny and I wish to thank the entire crew at New Horizons for building the Fifth Wheel of our dreams. With numerous physical problems we needed a user-friendly design to accommodate our special physical limitations.
We traveled almost the entire United States along almost every interstate shopping and inspected every sort of RV ever made and learned the limitations of other so called custom RV outfits.
Only New Horizons was really set up to build what we wanted and needed. Other RV outfits would only slightly tweak the orientation of bathroom fixtures to attempt to gain legroom for knees that don’t bend well.
Only New Horizons allowed us to design the floor plan that achieved a both functional and well-appointed bathroom area with plenty of space for my 6’2” large inflexible body to move about and shower in comfort. Because I must rest frequently when traveling, the floor plan allows us access to kitchen, bathroom and bedroom allowing us to cook, rest, or even overnight without having to extend slide outs. Knowing that permanent wheelchair use is in my future, I could easily justify the investment in your quality product as you allowed me to design the floor plan and exterior door position and opening width to accommodate a wheel chair lift if needed in the future. Thank you for listening and responding to our particular and unique needs.
Our break in trip was 40 days and 5000 miles. It sure is nice not to have to move pack and repack luggage everyday. The onboard washer dryer combination is well worth the investment for the convenience.
Penny left glass tumbler on the kitchen counter when before we navigated through Kansas City and much to our surprise it didn’t budge an inch. Therefore I’m pleased that we upgraded to the “G” tires. We were worried that they would be too stiff of a ride but the Mor/ryde suspension did the job it was built to do.
We were torn between buying a Class A Diesel Pusher or a Fifth Wheel. Now that we’ve experience with both, we are much happier with our New Horizons Fifth Wheel. It is much easier to handle in high winds and isn’t thrown around the road by the air pressure of large freight trucks on two lane highways. We both feel a lot safer now on the highway than with a Class A.
All in all your Five Star equipment rating is well deserved and that also compliment applies to everyone at New Horizons.

Phil,
Safety is the highest item on our priority list for any vehicle, especially one the size of our New Horizons. The rig tows like a dream, even in adverse weather and highway conditions. I can honestly say that I have never felt even close to losing control of the rig on everything from the flatland to the mountains and from Interstates to rough and narrow country roads. I am convinced that this speaks to the rigidity of the unit, its overall balance and the care that goes into construction of the frame and superstructures. The most dangerous aspect of towing the New Horizons is that it is easy to forget that it is back there. To top it off, the finish and detail of the unit are excellent and have not deteriorated over the 5 years we have owned it.
From time to time, we consider buying a new trailer to take advantage of developments and get some additional features. However, we have difficulty getting this very high up the priority list since what we have still looks and handles great, and still serves our needs well after 5 years. We will probably succumb to the temptation for “new” some time this year and will not consider any other fifth wheel. It is a great product, built and supported by a very special company.
We think the world of Harold Johnson, the product he designed, and the team he assembled. We are happy to see that the company has gotten stronger and the product has gotten better under your capable ownership and leadership.
Sincerely,
Allan & Shirley Budd
Hi Drew,
I named my rig –Ms. Lolly! It Stands for “Lap of Luxury Living.”
Had a great trip to Canada. Friends and family loved my new toys. Lots of future trips planned.
All systems worked perfectly and tow like a dream. My mom was really impressed compared to towing their travel trailer.
Hope all is well with you and the New Horizons’ team. Thanks for building such a good product!
Lynda Lang
P.S. Have showed the rig to a number of people. Cabinets and bathroom are always noticed.
We’d like to thank all of you for your efforts on our new home. Your professionalism, excellent craftsmanship and great attitudes are really appreciated. It has been a pleasure working with everyone here at New Horizons. Thanks again

Dear Phil,
From the start, I’ve enjoyed the quality of my New Horizons fifth wheel trailer. After four months of full timing, I’ve come to appreciate the quality even more.
Nearly a hundred people have asked for a tour of my trailer. They noticed quality in areas that I took for granted. Besides the overall fit and finish of the cabinets, they notice the solid construction or the window valances and side trim as well as the special cabinetry for electric outlets and controls. Comments such, as “This doesn’t seem like a trailer!” were common. The biggest impression was the solid comfort of real home.
This week, I stopped by to have a couple of changes made and a look at the transfer switch for the generator. Immediately, several technicians knew exactly what was needed to be done and how to do it. Johnny, Gloria, Danny and Tony had the teamwork of a pit crew but with greater care for the quality. It was certainly worthwhile to come here for service because your service team is outstanding.
I expect to like my trailer even more next year!
Sincerely,
Tom Marik
Dear Phil, Ken and all other who provided service to our coach:
We greatly appreciate the courtesy, accommodation and workmanship extended to us. Clearly, New Horizons is a place where one’s confidence is well placed! Thank you for another good experience in our interactions with your company and people.

Dear Phil,
During our nineteen months of full timing in our New Horizons 5th wheel we have congratulated ourselves many times for choosing an RV from New Horizons. We have been continually impressed with the quality of workmanship and materials in our home.
This week when we returned to New Horizons for warranty work, other minor repairs and cabinet modifications we were impressed again. Dan discussed each item on our long list with us in a very professional and helpful manner. Despite an unexpectedly demanding schedule this week, he and Johnny took care of everything thoroughly and to our satisfaction. Mike did his usual beautiful job with the cabinetry.
Our thanks to one and all!
Sincerely,
Ron & Liz Peck
My wife and I own a 30 foot 2004 New Horizons fifth wheel with two slides and a rear kitchen. We wanted a coach that was small enough to be pulled behind a pickup truck and fit into smaller parks, yet was spacious enough to support our full time life style. These requirements were best accomplished with two slides and a rear kitchen in a 30 footer. When we were going through the design process many Rvers warned us STRONGLY about rear kitchen disasters. Opening cabinets, broken dishes, and pots and pans in the sink were common instances among the complaints. After almost a year and ten thousand miles of travel on every kind of road surface imaginable, we have not had one problem. We have glass dishes and even a magnetic knife rack in our kitchen. We have never lost one of them on the roughest road. We love our rear kitchen!
My explanation for this is two fold. First, the MOR/ryde Independent suspension is much better at absorbing road and isolating it to one wheel than is a conventional straight axle and leaf spring. The second reason is the shear mass of the trailer. Most production model fivers with rear kitchens are not intended for full time use and are therefore significantly lighter than ours. Mr. Newton told us that force equals mass times acceleration. That means that for a given road impact “force”, more “mass” results in less “acceleration”. It is this acceleration that throws things around in the rear of the coach.
I would be happy to share our experiences and entertain any questions via email. Our address is cjrett@escapees.com
Happy travels!
Take care,

Very Impresed
Hi Phil,
We just wanted to thank you for the new 5th wheel and the help you
provided us. We enjoyed our stay and we really enjoy the trailer.
Everything worked as promised on the way home.
We were obligated to give a couple of private tours of the trailer when
we arrived at the camp sites on the way home. People would walk up and
stare at it. They all left a little green with envy, but they do know
where to go when they want a quality product.
Everyone we meet at your operation was very helpful and did their best
to make us feel at home and answer all our multitude of questions. Best
of all they all had the answers or knew where to get it them. You have a
very professional group of people. Special thanks to Marianne, Nancy,
Johnny, Mike and the young man with the nicotine patch (I hope it
works). These are the people we interacted with the most but thanks
also to all the rest of your crew behind the product.
You definitely provide a quality experience and make quality product.

Lee Hoag-Very Satisified
Dear Phil,
Thank you and everyone at New Horizons for the friendly, knowledgeable and professional service you have provided me in designing, building and purchasing my 36ft fifth wheel MotoMover. I am a first time buyer and newbie full timer. You have given me an excellent first experience, being sincerely interested in what I was looking for in an RV and guiding me gently through the areas where my knowledge was deficient.
My focus has always been to own a full timer’s RV that provides safety, durability, ease of maintenance and longevity. I am very satisfied that not only have you built my RV with those qualities and more (like comfort & expert craftsmanship), you completed the unit with appliances and utility products that have the same qualities.
Phil, Drew, Erin, Marianne, Nancy, Mike and the rest of the experts at New Horizons: you have graciously extended your expertise to me to make the whole process from design to ownership and beyond painless, easy and even fun! That fact should not be dismissed quickly because every step and process, except actual acceptance, was accomplished by email, mail and phone. Even now, on the road, I contact Mike with questions and he responds immediately to discuss and provide answers. I am grateful.
Thanks, New Horizons, for not selling me an RV but helping me buy one. Thanks, New Horizons, for a great experience and an awesome home.

Schrader’s Testomonial
July 8, 2008
When my wife and I met Phil at the Hershey, PA, RV Show, we said, “The beautiful interior shows the work of skilled, conscientious craftsmen. Now, tell me about what we can’t see.” He proudly explained the construction of the frame, walls, and roof and the efficient placement of plumbing fixtures and electrical wiring. We were pleased that he went into detail about these important safety features.
Our trip to the factory confirmed the attention to detail that the New Horizon team showed and demonstrated your company’s philosophy.
Since we were new to RVing and planned to go full-time, we were concerned about driving a 38’ fifth wheel without previous experience. Phil related his own experience of driving that size RV with little previous experience and mentioned that we would have all the training we needed from Mike Eenhuis.
After Mike’s instruction on hitching and un-hitching and the operation of the electrical and plumbing systems, Kate and I had the opportunity to drive around the state highways and interstates around Junction City. We quickly adapted to pulling the fifth wheel.
As we headed to the East Coast, Kate and I felt very comfortable after we had each driven our first 100 miles. By now, we each have about 1000 miles of towing the fifth wheel. The towing is very smooth with no sway or weaving; the truck and RV feel like one vehicle, and we feel very secure.
Two final words about the interior—beautiful and spacious. The craftsmanship is evident in every element of the warm cabinets, every hinge, and every window installation. The floor plan provides a spacious feeling and the arrangement of the shelves and cabinets provides plenty of room. After six weeks on the road, we still have empty cabinets and basement space available. Our three cats have established spaces for themselves, so they do not feel crowded either.
We are eagerly looking forward to the next 3-6 years on the road. Thank you, Phil, Karen, Erin, Marianne, and especially thank you to the construction team.
Sincerely,
Chuck and Kate Schrader

Marilyn and I would like to comment on our recent visit to your new location for warranty work:
To all New Horizons employees,
Marilyn and I picked up our new 39RLTSS Summit 5th wheel last September, 2007. Because of a family member’s illness, we picked up the unit as soon as it was finished rather than a planned pick up in October, 2007. Also, because of the family illness, we needed to return to San Antonio after only one day for orientation and unit checkout.
We experienced a minimum of problems with our new home but since we were to be in northeastern Oklahoma in June, 2008, we decided to come on up to Junction City to let New Horizons check out our unit for any needed warranty work. Mike was contacted in advance to schedule your service time and a list of concerns was E-mailed to him.
We arrived on June 17, and we were directed to a parking space near the service shop where we could get electricity and water. This was much appreciated since we are “Full Timers” and we could then be at home in the evening when service was not being conducted. Marianne showed us the customer lounge where we could stay during the day and use the wireless Internet connection.
On Wednesday June 18, Ray promptly began working on the items that we had identified as needing attention. Ray was very diligent, identifying the causes of problems we asked about and correcting them. He had an especially difficult time trouble shooting the wind sensor on the awning and ended up replacing the signal wire from the sensor to the awning controller. Ray recognized that we had a short time for work to be completed and he had our problems fixed by noon on Friday, June 20, in time for us to travel back to El Dorado, KS that afternoon.
Prior to our visit this year, we had incurred a charge for warranty work recommended by an appliance supplier. After incurring the charge for this work, the supplier refused to pay for their recommended work. New Horizons paid us for the un-reimbursed portion and also for work on the appliance that New Horizon authorized. We really appreciate New Horizons standing behind their warranty.
I would also like to recognize support above and beyond the normal. Marianne made sure that we received progress pictures while our unit was being manufactured last fall. As a result, we have a good visual record of how our unit was put together. On Wednesday, we experienced a problem with our Ford tow vehicle. We contacted Mike to tell him that we would be unavailable for the rest of that day while we had to be towed to a Ford garage in Manhattan. He recommended that we tow the truck to the Green Ford Dealer in Abilene. Green Ford serviced the vehicle in much less time and in my estimate, charged significantly less than another dealer could have. A nice side benefit was time to explore the historical sites in Abilene.
We are extremely pleased with our new 5th wheel and are confident that we have experienced fewer problems than other new owners of other RV manufacturer’s who we have talked to. We know we received better warranty work and saved both New Horizons and us time and money by bringing our new unit back to the factory for work.
Marilyn and I wish to thank New Horizons for all of the kind attention shown us on our recent visit.
George and Marilyn Hanks
